This past weekend St. Dominic Priory in St. Louis, where the Central Province and Southern Province Dominicans do their joint formation, hosted the Interprovincial Student Gathering. Each year, one of the four Dominican provinces in the U.S. hosts the gathering. Two brothers are then sent to attend the gathering from among the provinces that are not hosting for that year. The gathering features a series of talks and an opportunity for the student brothers to meet one another and discuss their experiences of formation in the studentate.

This year twenty-four students brothers were in attendance for the gathering, twenty brothers from the Central and Southern Province and four brothers from the Eastern Province (Province of St. Joseph) and Western Province (Holy Name of Jesus Province). The gathering began on Friday evening with a talk delivered by Fr. Finally on Sunday morning, the student brothers gathered together to discuss their current experiences of formation and hopes for future interprovincial student gatherings and possibilities for collaboration among the four provinces. Please pray for the all the Dominican student brothers in formation as they continue to discerning the best ways to preach the Gospel, understanding the signs of the times. The Dominican preaching still burns bright as the Order celebrates it's 800th jubilee since its founding. St. Dominic, pray for us!
