This past Saturday, February 9th, eight brothers were installed in two different liturgical ministries reaching milestones on the way to ordination. Brothers Raymond Bryce, Cristobal Torres, and Francis Orozco were installed as Acolytes. Brothers Isaac Anderson, Raphael Christianson, Samuel Hakeem, James-Peter Trares, and Thomas More Barba were installed as Lectors. The installations took place within the context of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
During the installation, the Lectors each receive a bible and are instructed:
Take this book of holy Scripture and be faithful in handing on the word of God,
so that it may grow strong in the hearts of his people.
The Acolytes receive the paten and chalices to present to the presider during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. They are instructed:
Take this vessel with bread (wine) for the celebration of the Eucharist.
Make your life worthy of your service at the table of the Lord and of his Church.
Each responds: Amen.
Pray for our men in formation and for an increase of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life!
